Ryzo Wines Tasting Room will host a reception for Methow Valley and Norway-based artist Hannah Viano. Viano will be showing images first developed for the exhibit first developed as part of the exhibit STRØMME/FLOW, a collaboration with artist Perri Lynch Howard. The pieces were inspired by time spent tracing waterways in the Arctic, listening for the way that changes in the landscape shape the sounds that are made, and relearning the subtle layers of place. Viano used pieces of driftwood and other collected natural items to create the underlying forms and worked in paint, ink, printwork, and snippets of text from Norwegian and Sami poetry. Across the street, True North Letterpress will have extended hours and a sale while also featuring Robin Doggett and Nick Gadbois. The 1908 Barbecue and Bourbon will be showcasing local artist and entrepreneur Jennifer Allen Tate’s work while serving their always delicious food and cocktails.
