Upcoming Open Call Exhibits

Shelter

We invite you to contribute to our exhibit “Shelter” at the Confluence Gallery in Twisp, WA. The show  will open on June 8 and will run through July 13.

The word “shelter” can mean many things. In ancient Sanskrit, Sangha describes it as a position or in a state of being where you are emotionally covered and protected surrounded by a community. In other examples, the word can also give meaning to the following;

*to physically protect and shield…as in a structure

*a core essential of survival….as in a refuge

*separation from surroundings for people….as in a home

* a cover for animals….as with rescue

The word can either imply  temporary or it can be permanent.

Shelter is an essential part of safety either as a physical structure or a psychological resting place. I invite artists to submit works in conceptual form as well as in two dimensional paintings and three dimensional sculpture and expressions. I will look forward to your translation of the topic.

Number of pieces to submit: up to 5:

Here are the rules. Each piece must be:

  • Your own original work.

  • Available for sale.

  • Created in the last 3 years.

  • Never previously been shown at The Confluence.

  • Any Size

  • Any Medium.

  • Ready for hanging with appropriate hardware/wire secured to work (works without hanging hardware or not professionally presented will not be hung. No dented or scratched frames unless that is part of the work)

Please Note: The curator(s) have the right to refuse work, even after work is delivered to the gallery if it does not contribute to the direction, cohesiveness, or available space of the show. We are looking for high-quality execution and thoughtful content that contribute to the vision of the show as stated above.
